Posted Article No. 53179

Incheon’s Namdong-gu (남동구) (District Mayor Lee Byung-rae) has created a hands-on career exploration opportunity by connecting local teens — the region’s future entrepreneurial talent — with senior young founders. The district announced on the 20th that it recently held a networking event at Cheongnyeon Kkumteo Moindang (청년꿈터 모인당), bringing together students from the Songcheon High School (송천고등학교) startup club with founders from companies based at the Namdong-gu Youth Startup Support Center (남동구 청년창업지원센터).

Four Resident Company Founders Share Startup Know-How

The meeting was arranged to give teens — the region’s future entrepreneurial talent — real-world experience in discovering startup ideas and to answer their specific questions about career paths and entrepreneurship.

The event was attended by founders from a total of four companies based at the Namdong-gu Youth Startup Support Center (남동구 청년창업지원센터): Smart Road (스마트로드, CEO Yeo Jae-ho), Onsoop (온숲, CEO Park Eun-mi), Tolerance Lab (CEO Kim Hye-rim), and mediPOP studio (CEO Jung Sun-mi).

The participating entrepreneurs shared real-world experiences and know-how from the startup process, tailored to the students’ level, along with ways to make use of government startup support programs, and answered students’ questions in an open Q&A session.

Nonhyeon-dong and Mansu-dong Youth Startup Spaces Serving as an Education Hub

Kim Ha-neul (김하늘), director of the Namdong-gu Youth Startup Support Center (남동구 청년창업지원센터), said, “It is truly meaningful and reassuring to see teens, who represent the future, sharing their passion together with young entrepreneurs pursuing their dreams. We will continue to serve as a hub for startup education so that our teens’ creative business ideas can be realized.”

Namdong-gu (남동구) has set up youth startup spaces in Nonhyeon-dong (논현동) and Mansu-dong (만수동), establishing startup support centers that are operated under contract by iStartupLab Co., Ltd. (㈜아이스타트업랩), a startup incubator affiliated with Inha University (인하대학교).
