Selected as a Best Practice in the Cultural Enjoyment Category, One of Seven Fields

Among seven fields — cultural mediation, regional revitalization, cultural planning, fundraising, cultural governance, everyday culture, and cultural enjoyment — the Namdong Culture Foundation was selected as a best practice case in the cultural enjoyment category for the achievements of its ‘Culture and Arts Welfare Program.’

Since its founding in 2023, the foundation has run a range of culture and arts welfare programs, including performances, exhibitions, education, and projects based in the old downtown area, building an integrated culture and arts welfare system that reaches culturally underserved groups and areas.

The foundation has contributed to narrowing regional cultural gaps and improving access to culture by running tailored culture and arts programs for seniors, people with disabilities, youth, young children, and near-poverty households, and by establishing culture and arts hubs centered on old downtown neighborhoods.

From 2023 to 2025, a total of 234,426 people took part in the Culture and Arts Welfare Program. In 2026, the foundation is pursuing an ‘Outreach Exhibition Project’ aimed at culturally underserved groups, expanding opportunities to enjoy culture and the arts in everyday life. A foundation official said, “This achievement was made possible through collaboration among the local community, related institutions, and local artists,” adding, “We will continue building a sustainable model in which anyone can enjoy culture and the arts as part of daily life.”
