Multidisciplinary Team Makes Home Visits… ‘Geongangdeobom’ Assesses Medical Needs
‘Durudolbom(春)’ is a specialized healthcare program brand of the Yeonsu-gu Public Health Center (연수구보건소) that combines the meaning of the red-crowned crane (두루미), a symbol of Yeonsu-gu (연수구), and the phrase ‘looking after everyone thoroughly (두루두루 살핀다)’, adding the meaning of watching over residents’ health more closely.
‘Geongangdeobom’ is a program in which a multidisciplinary team of nurses, health managers, and occupational therapists visits target households to assess health and functional status and medical needs, and to review the direction for linking recipients to necessary services such as home-visit medical care, home-visit rehabilitation, and treatment at medical institutions.

Home-Visit Rehabilitation Provides Tailored Rehabilitation Exercises and Fall-Prevention Education
The home-visit rehabilitation service is a program in which occupational therapists visit the homes of integrated care recipients who have mobility difficulties or declining physical function, providing tailored rehabilitation exercises, gait training, and fall-prevention education.
The recipient visited that day was a case in which the need for home-visit rehabilitation was confirmed through ‘Geongangdeobom’ and the service was subsequently linked; after about two months of receiving tailored rehabilitation exercises and gait training, the recipient showed high levels of participation and satisfaction.
District Mayor Lee Jae-ho: “We Will Pursue Integrated Care Services That Residents Can Truly Feel”
District Mayor Lee Jae-ho (이재호), together with the health center director and occupational therapists, visited the recipient’s home to observe the delivery of rehabilitation services and to hear about changes in health and functional status as well as impressions of the service. He also checked on everyday inconveniences and areas requiring additional support, and encouraged the officials on site.
Mayor Lee said, “Geongangdeobom and home-visit rehabilitation are programs in which the public health center directly visits residents’ everyday living spaces to check their health status and connect them with the services they need,” adding, “We will continue to advance integrated care healthcare services more thoroughly so that senior citizens can keep living healthily in the places they call home.”
Before ending the home-visit rehabilitation service, the district plans to check changes in recipients’ health and functional status and review management directions such as concluding, extending, or adjusting the frequency of the service. Based on the results of ‘Geongangdeobom,’ the district also plans to continuously identify and manage recipients who require additional linkage to services such as home-visit medical care and treatment at medical institutions.
