What Is Participatory Budgeting? Reflecting Citizens’ Views in Budget Planning

The resident participatory budgeting program is a system in which citizens directly take part in the budget-planning process to have their opinions reflected. Covering the agency’s programs and its 13 affiliated facilities, it invites a wide range of policy proposals, including ways to improve operations and services, and projects needed to advance social welfare in Incheon.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed for feasibility, viability, and required budget to determine whether they will be reflected in next year’s budget.

Proposals Excluded from Consideration and Results Announcement Schedule

Excluded from consideration are projects implemented by other agencies such as the city or districts/counties, projects that violate laws or budgeting standards, and multi-year projects.

The results of the open call will be announced on the agency’s website notice board sometime in August.
