Namdong-gu (남동구) in Incheon (인천) announced on the 13th that it has assessed and notified this year’s regular property tax, covering 245,725 cases totaling 56,217 million won. Property tax is levied each year on owners of buildings, houses and other property as of June 1, with payments collected in July and September. The July levy covers 50% of the house portion, along with the building and vessel portions. The payment deadline runs from July 16 to July 31.

Breakdown of Assessments by Taxable Property
By category, the building portion accounted for 53,669 cases totaling 33,481 million won, the house portion for 191,868 cases totaling 22,730 million won, and the vessel portion for 188 cases totaling 6 million won.
In September, the remaining 50% of the house portion and the land portion of the property tax will be levied. However, for houses with an annual tax amount of 100,000 won or less, the full amount is levied at once in July.

Extension of Eased Fair Market Value Ratio for One-Household-One-House Owners
To ease the property tax burden, the fair market value ratio for one-household-one-house owners — temporarily lowered in 2023 (43% for assessed values of 300 million won or less, 44% for values over 300 million won up to 600 million won, and 45% for values over 600 million won) — will continue to apply this year as well.

Various Payment Methods Including Wetax and Simple Payment Apps
Payments can be made without a paper notice via CD-ATMs at financial institutions nationwide, Wetax (www.wetax.go.kr), or Internet Giro (www.giro.or.kr), where the amount can be looked up and paid directly.
Additional payment options include the local tax ARS line (☎142-211), virtual accounts, local tax revenue accounts, and simple payment apps such as Kakao Pay, Naver Pay and Payco.
