Namdong-gu Brings Together Children from Local Children’s Centers, Hosts Sports Day and Culture Festival

Incheon’s Namdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Byung-rae) announced on the 28th that it recently held the ‘2026 Happy Sports Day & Children’s Culture Festival’ at the Namdong Eoullim Gymnasium and the Sorae Saetgil Artificial Turf Field. The event, hosted by the Namdong-gu Association of Local Children’s Centers, brought together about 600 children and staff from local children’s centers in the district. It was organized to help children build teamwork and improve their physical fitness.

At the Namdong Eoullim Gymnasium, team-building games such as dodgeball, giant Jenga, and an air-pole relay were held. At the Sorae Saetgil Artificial Turf Field, various outdoor physical activities took place, including a balloon relay, a wave-riding game, and a “Shoot High into the Sky!” game.

The participating children cheered each other on and enjoyed playing together. Lee So-hyeong, head of the Namdong-gu Association of Local Children’s Centers, said, “This event was a meaningful day for the children to step away from their studies for once and feel a sense of accomplishment by cooperating with one another,” adding, “I am grateful to everyone who worked hard on site to ensure the event concluded safely and successfully.” Lee Byung-rae, head of Namdong-gu, said, “I thank the staff of the local children’s centers for their dedication in the field to help children grow into healthy members of society,” and added, “We will continue to carefully support a variety of cultural and athletic activities so that children can pursue their dreams and talents in a safe care environment.”
