Mr. Kang, Who Suffered a Cerebral Infarction, Regains Daily Life Through Housework and Mobility Support
Mr. Kang (77), a Namdong-gu resident, had been living a healthy life until he collapsed from a cerebral infarction last April, after which he began to struggle with daily activities. With no family available to care for him, he applied for the integrated care program and is now receiving housework support, such as cleaning and laundry, as well as mobility support service for hospital visits.
“It was hard to do housework or even get to the hospital on my own, so getting the help I need has been a great support,” Mr. Kang said. “It’s reassuring to be able to keep living in the home I’ve always lived in.”
Namdong-gu Identifies Care Blind Spots Through Integrated Support Meetings
Namdong-gu comprehensively assesses each applicant’s health condition, living environment, and care needs to establish individualized support plans and connect them with tailored services. The district works with its neighborhood community service centers to continuously identify residents in need of care, and reviews complex care needs comprehensively through integrated support meetings.
District Mayor Lee Byung-rae said, “Housework and mobility support are community-based care services that ease the daily difficulties residents face and help them continue living in the place they call home.” He added, “We will continue to closely examine residents’ care needs and keep expanding integrated care services that residents can genuinely feel the benefit of.”
