Incheon’s (인천) Namdong-gu (남동구) announced on the 14th that the ‘Seoseoul (B) Team (서서울(B)팀),’ which includes players from the Namdong-gu Little League team, has advanced to the Major (U-12) division, while the ‘Seoseoul Team (서서울팀)’ has advanced to the Intermediate (U-13) division, at the finals of the ‘2026 Little League World Series’ to be held in the United States this summer.

Advancing to Finals with a Perfect Record in Asia-Pacific Qualifiers
The team’s advancement to the World Series came on the back of a dominant, undefeated championship run through the Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers, once again demonstrating the high caliber of South Korea’s youth baseball on the world stage.
The Major (U-12) national team went undefeated to win the Asia-Pacific qualifier held in Hwaseong (화성), while the Intermediate (U-13) national team set a remarkable record by reaching the finals for the 11th consecutive year.

Five Namdong-gu Little League Players Earn National Team Spots
Players from the Namdong-gu Little League team are playing pivotal roles on their respective national teams. In the Major (U-12) division, Hong Ji-hwan (홍지환), Park Seo-jun (박서준), and Gillio (길리오) will represent South Korea, while in the Intermediate (U-13) division, Jo Yeong-in (조영인) and Moon Seong-hyun (문성현) will don the national uniform in pursuit of the world championship.
Observers say the Namdong-gu Little League team’s systematic training program and the leadership of its coaching staff played a key role in the team’s advancement to the finals.
Intermediate Division Opens August 2, Major Division August 19
The Intermediate World Series will be held starting August 2 in Livermore (리버모어), California, while the Major World Series will take place starting August 19 in Williamsport (윌리엄스포트), Pennsylvania.
Lee Byung-rae (이병래), head of Namdong-gu (남동구청장), said, “I am very proud of our players for making it through the fiercely contested qualifiers undefeated and earning a place on the grand stage of the world championship finals.” He added, “I hope they return home safely, without injury, and with good results.”
