Incheon’s Namdong-gu (남동구, District Mayor Lee Byung-rae (이병래)) announced on the 13th that the ‘Namdong Water Playground’ (남동 물빛놀이터), the district’s signature summer water facility, began nighttime operations on the 11th. Located within Nonhyeon Podae Neighborhood Park (논현포대근린공원) in the Nonhyeon-dong (논현동) 644-1 area, the water park will open at night on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the summer vacation period, from July 11 to August 16. The night operations were introduced for the first time this year after a visitor satisfaction survey last year showed strong demand for evening hours.

Incheon’s First Public-Sector Water Park with a Lazy River
The Namdong Water Playground (남동 물빛놀이터) is Incheon’s first public-sector family water park equipped with a lazy river, and became a signature summer destination after drawing about 40,000 visitors in its opening year, from July to August last year.
Namdong-gu (남동구) decided to introduce night operations for the first time this year after a satisfaction survey of 2,513 visitors last year received numerous requests for evening hours.

Safety Strengthened Through Improved Lighting and More Safety Staff
Ahead of the night operations, Namdong-gu (남동구) completed lighting improvement work at the water park and the temporary parking lot to ensure a safe environment for visitors.
The district also strengthened safety management by deploying eight safety officers, more than the legally required number. Each nighttime session can accommodate 800 visitors.
August Night-Opening Tickets Go on Sale from the 15th
Tickets for the July night openings drew such strong interest that they sold out entirely on the first day of booking.
Tickets for the August night openings will be available first to Namdong-gu (남동구) residents starting July 15, with sales opening to residents of all areas from July 16.
District Mayor Lee Byung-rae (이병래) said, “We will continue to actively reflect visitors’ feedback to make the Namdong Water Playground (남동 물빛놀이터) even safer and more enjoyable,” adding, “We hope families will enjoy a refreshing summer night of water play and create happy memories together.”
