Newly Opened Veterans Hall — 33-Meter Flagpole and Veterans Memorial Exhibition Hall in Operation Since March
Yeonsu-gu has been expanding its recognition of national merit recipients, anchored by the newly built Veterans Hall that opened in March of this year. The facility houses the Veterans Memorial Exhibition Hall (보훈전시관), which displays artifacts related to the Korean War (6·25전쟁) and the Vietnam War, a replica of a nationally designated Taegukgi (태극기), and donated military merit medals, as well as a large Taegukgi flagpole standing 33 meters tall.
The district regularly holds formal flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies with direct participation by veterans organization members. Tailored welfare programs for national merit recipients are also underway, including health and wellness classes, practical skills courses, integrated counseling services, and a veterans cinema.
Upcoming Veterans Hall Tour Program for Children and Youth
The district plans to expand projects that link the Veterans Hall’s exhibition, education, and welfare functions, and to launch a Veterans Hall tour program targeting children and teenagers.
Through these efforts, the district says it will continue working to ensure that the meaning of honoring patriots does not remain confined to a single generation, but takes root as a shared value that extends to future generations.
