Removing Dumped Waste, Dredging Storm Drains
Participants focused on commercial districts and side streets, thoroughly clearing away dumped waste that had been marring the urban landscape and causing bad odors.
In particular, they closely inspected roadside storm drains, which are a major cause of flooding during sudden downpours, personally removing sediment, fallen leaves, and trash from inside them as part of dredging work to ensure smooth drainage.
