Incheon Namdong-gu (남동구) District Chief Lee Byung-rae (이병래) conducted on-site inspections of flood-vulnerable areas and disaster-response facilities ahead of the monsoon season to prevent disasters. According to the district on the 13th, Chief Lee, together with related departments including the Safety Management Division, Water Management Division and Road Division, inspected in turn Biryudae-ro 762beon-gil (비류대로762번길), Munemi-ro (무네미로) in Mansu 6-dong (만수6동), the Jangsucheon (장수천) automatic blocking facility, and the Jangsu (장수) underpass entry-blocking facility.

Focused inspection of underpass and stream blocking facilities

During the inspection, Chief Lee personally checked whether each facility was operating properly and how field response systems were functioning.

He emphasized that underpass entry-blocking facilities and automatic stream-blocking facilities, as key disaster-response infrastructure protecting residents’ lives and property during heavy rain, must be thoroughly inspected and kept ready for rapid activation.

Deputy Chief Kim Chung-jin also inspects Seunggicheon area

On the same day, Deputy District Chief Kim Chung-jin (김충진) also visited the Seunggicheon (승기천) stream area in the afternoon with related departments to inspect flood-vulnerable sections along the stream and the installation and operating status of automatic blocking facilities.

He closely examined on-site management conditions to ensure immediate control and response would be possible in the event of rainfall.

Preparations completed, including operation of stormwater storage facility

Namdong-gu (남동구) District Chief Lee Byung-rae (이병래) said, “We will continue field-focused inspections and proactive responses to minimize inconvenience and damage to residents from heavy rain, in preparation for summer flood and storm disasters.”

He added, “Since heavy rain can fall in a short period during the monsoon season, we ask residents to refrain as much as possible from using riverside walking paths, underpasses, and areas prone to chronic flooding.”

Ahead of the monsoon, Namdong-gu (남동구) has thoroughly prepared for disaster prevention, including operating the stormwater storage facility in Ganseok-dong (간석동) and completing erosion-control projects to prepare for landslides.
