Incheon’s (인천) Namdong-gu (남동구) announced on the 15th that its housekeeping and mobility support services, run under the region-specific integrated care initiative, are drawing a strong response from residents. 295 Everyday Support Services Provided, Including Housekeeping and Mobility Assistance

Namdong-gu (남동구) provides a range of region-specific integrated care services—including housekeeping, mobility support, meals, in-home bathing, hairdressing and grooming, and housing environment improvements—to help residents who face difficulties in daily life due to illness, old age, or disability continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Among these, the region-specific integrated care services totaled 295 cases, including 66 housekeeping support cases and 52 mobility support cases, helping residents maintain stable daily lives.

Senior Who Suffered a Stroke Regains Daily Life Through Integrated Care

A Namdong-gu (남동구) resident surnamed Kang, 77, had been living a healthy life until he suffered a cerebral infarction in April and began struggling with daily activities. With no family nearby to care for him, he applied for the integrated care program and is now receiving housekeeping support, including cleaning and laundry, as well as mobility support for hospital visits.

“It was hard to manage housework or even get to the hospital on my own, so getting the help I needed has been a great support,” Kang said. “It’s reassuring to be able to keep living in the home I’ve always lived in.”

Expanding Support Through a Tailored Care System

Namdong-gu (남동구) comprehensively assesses each recipient’s health condition, living environment, and care needs to establish individualized support plans and link them with tailored services. The district is strengthening its community-based integrated care system by continuously identifying residents in need of care in cooperation with dong (동) administrative welfare centers and reviewing recipients’ complex care needs through integrated support meetings.

Namdong-gu (남동구) Mayor Lee Byung-rae (이병래) said, “Housekeeping and mobility support are everyday care services that ease the difficulties residents face in daily life and help them continue living in their own homes.” He added, “We will continue to closely examine residents’ care needs and steadily expand integrated care services that residents can genuinely feel the benefit of.”
