The show “Arabian Nights,” themed around the idea that “tonight, we decided to become an oasis for one another,” will be held on Friday, July 17, at 9 p.m. at “Seom” in Hongdae.
[코리안투데이] Belly Dance Show ‘Arabian Nights’ to Be Held July 17 at Hongdae’s ‘Seom’ |
The poster, set against golden lighting, an antique lamp, and a cello, exudes an exotic atmosphere as dancers in elaborate costumes strike dynamic poses. Sparkling coin-adorned outfits, red roses, and candlelight combine to evoke the image of an oasis on a desert night straight out of the tales of the Arabian Nights, brought to life on stage.
The show features dancers Angella Kim, Sincia Kim, and Crystal Yoon, joined by singer Sara Pyo and guitarist Kim Jin-young for live vocals and music. It appears to be a multi-disciplinary performance in which belly dance’s characteristic flowing costumes and controlled movement blend with live music. Props noted in the poster — a double bass, candles, and wine glasses — suggest the venue has been styled as an immersive space rather than a simple stage.
The venue, “Seom” in Hongdae, is located at 9-gil 56, Seogang-ro. It appears to be a small performance space or bar-style venue in the Hongdae area known for offering distinctive performance content, with belly dance and world music shows occasionally featured there.
The ticketing approach is notable: the poster carries the phrase “pay-what-moved-you, afterward” — suggesting audiences pay based on their satisfaction after watching the show. This reflects confidence in the performance while lowering the barrier for audiences to enjoy it without pressure.
The Friday 9 p.m. time slot is also set to make it easy for audiences to attend as the weekend begins.
