Posted Article No. 53051

The Incheon Autonomous Police Commission (인천자치경찰위원회) announced that it has unveiled an emotional-drama-style ‘Two-Wheel (PM and Fixed-Gear Bicycle) Safety Campaign’ video designed to raise citizens’ safety awareness and promote a proper culture of use amid the growing popularity of personal mobility devices (PMs) and fixed-gear bicycles.

PM and fixed-gear bicycle accidents surge… message delivered through emotional drama

The campaign video was designed to move beyond conventional one-way delivery of safety rules or enforcement-focused promotion, instead focusing on drawing citizens’ empathy and voluntary practice. By weaving emotional storytelling into everyday stories that anyone can relate to, it naturally conveys the importance of safety, representing a new approach to traffic safety promotion that encourages citizens to practice safety on their own.

“It’s only cool when you can stop”

Under the theme ‘It’s only cool when you can stop,’ the video realistically portrays the hidden dangers behind the convenience of fast urban transportation. After vividly conveying the tension of a near-accident moment, it presents safety guidelines, emphasizing that a driving habit of being able to stop safely — rather than simply going fast — is the most important responsibility for protecting one’s own life and the lives of others.

Released on website and Instagram… also to be screened at universities and festivals

The Incheon Autonomous Police Commission (인천자치경찰위원회) released the content through public promotional channels including its official website and Instagram, and plans to screen it on electronic billboards at universities and local festivals across Incheon as well as at various events, using it widely as traffic safety promotional material for citizens.

Han Jin-ho (한진호), Chairman of the Incheon Autonomous Police Commission, said, “Personal mobility devices (PMs) and fixed-gear bicycles are convenient means of transportation that enhance citizens’ daily lives, but a single moment of carelessness can lead to an irreversible accident.” He added, “We hope this campaign video will serve as an opportunity to spread a mature traffic safety culture that instills the awareness that safety is not a choice but a daily practice.”
