The Namdong Cultural Foundation (남동문화재단) in Incheon (인천) announced on the 20th that it will run the theater program ‘Theater, Players: Play Us’ for middle and high school students in the fourth-floor auditorium of Namdong Youth Center (남동청소년센터) from July 21 to August 6. The program was organized as part of the foundation’s 2026 project to expand access to culture and arts education.

Hands-on classes where participants express their own stories through voice and gesture
‘Players: Play Us’ is a hands-on education program in which teenagers discover the stories and emotions within themselves through theater and express them in various ways, including voice, gesture, masks, and scene-building.
Rather than simply reading scripts or imitating acting, the program focuses on a process in which participants themselves become ‘players,’ exploring who they are and building scenes together with their peers.
The program runs for a total of six sessions, held every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Through step-by-step activities, participating teenagers will ease the tension of self-expression and gain experience developing their own emotions and stories into theatrical scenes.

Instructor Lee Ye-sol (이예솔), an acting major from Sungkyunkwan University (성균관대학교), to lead the classes
The classes will be led by instructor Lee Ye-sol (이예솔). Building on her acting studies at Sungkyunkwan University (성균관대학교), she has pursued a range of stage work, including directing and appearing in the reading play “1/N” (「N분의 1」) and appearing in the plays “FESTIval” (「FESTIval: 페스티발」), “Maddening Sincerity” (「환장할 진심」), and “Housemates” (「공동생활자」).
A Namdong Cultural Foundation (남동문화재단) official said, “Theater is a genre through which teenagers can artistically experience discovering themselves and the way they relate to others,” adding, “We hope this ‘Players’ program will be a time for participating teenagers to find their own voice and story.”
The program is open to 14 middle and high school students, and participation is free of charge. Inquiries can be directed to Namdong Youth Center (남동청소년센터), and further details are available on the Namdong Cultural Foundation (남동문화재단) website or through the Community Culture Team (생활문화팀) at 070-8820-5205.
