The Agricultural Technology Center of Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) is recruiting 25 participants for its home gardening program in the second half of 2026. The initiative aims to broaden citizens’ mental and physical health and leisure culture through horticultural activities centered on indoor plants.

The Incheon Agricultural Technology Center announced that it is recruiting participants for its second-half 2026 home gardening program for citizens. The program is open to any resident of Incheon, though Ganghwa-gun and Ongjin-gun are excluded from this recruitment.
The course is built around the fundamentals of indoor horticulture theory, combined with hands-on sessions such as making terrariums and creating one’s own companion plants. The program runs from Sept. 17 to Nov. 12, divided into a total of eight sessions over that period. A total of 25 participants will be accepted, and applications will be received on a first-come, first-served basis through the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center website beginning Aug. 31.
Home gardening has drawn growing interest as a leisure and healing activity in urban life, as the process of growing and tending plants oneself can bring emotional stability and a sense of accomplishment. A distinctive feature of this program is that it goes beyond theory, structured around practical workshops so that participants can create and take home their own finished works.
Lee Hee-jung, director of the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center, said, ‘Through horticultural education using indoor plants, we will strive to help citizens recover their physical and mental health and to provide opportunities for productive hobby activities.’
With only 25 spots available and enrollment closing on a first-come, first-served basis, citizens who wish to take part are advised to apply on the opening day of registration. Further details are available on the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center website.
