The Incheon Metropolitan Government will hold the 11th Munhaksan Concert atop Munhaksan Mountain on September 19. Set against the backdrop of a sunset-lit night view, the mountaintop classical performance is free and open to all citizens.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will hold the 11th Munhaksan Concert atop Munhaksan Mountain from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on September 19, under the theme The Feast of Classics Delivered by the Sunset.
The Munhaksan Concert is one of Incheon’s signature outdoor mountaintop concerts, held annually since 2016 to commemorate the full opening of the Munhaksan summit under an agreement signed in 2015 between the city of Incheon and the Ministry of National Defense (the Air Force’s 3rd Missile Defense Brigade). Symbolizing the return to citizens of a summit long restricted for military purposes, the event marks its 11th edition this year.
At this stage, the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Choi Soo-yeol, will present classical performances. Soprano Park So-young and harmonicist Park Jong-seong will join as guest performers. A defining feature of the concert is the chance to enjoy, all in one place, the mountaintop night view and authentic classical melodies rarely encountered in the city center.
The concert is free and open to all citizens. However, for a safe and smooth event, general attendees must walk to the summit. For mobility-impaired visitors, shuttle vehicles will run between Exit 1 of Munhak Stadium and Munhaksan Mountain at 20-minute intervals from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.; apart from these shuttles, all vehicle traffic will be fully restricted. As the event takes place at night, safety guides will be stationed after sunset to direct attendees toward the illuminated Munhak-dong route for a safe descent.
Jeon Yu-do, Director-General of the Culture and Sports Bureau, said, ‘I hope this Munhaksan Concert will be a special gift, allowing citizens living busy daily lives to enjoy culture and the arts amid Incheon’s beautiful nature,’ adding, ‘We will continue to expand cultural and artistic programs tailored to citizens’ expectations.’
