Posted Article No. 52506

Incheon’s Namdong-gu (남동구) announced on the 15th that it recently held its 2026 job capacity-building training for social welfare facility workers, with about 120 workers taking part. The training was designed to help prevent burnout among workers who are frequently exposed to high job stress and emotional labor in the welfare field, and to give them an opportunity to care for their own well-being.

Self-Care Techniques Introduced Under the Theme ‘Discovering Serenity’

Held under the theme ‘Discovering Serenity,’ the training introduced a range of self-care skills and mindfulness techniques that anyone can easily and quickly practice in daily life.

Key content included facing stress directly, building recovery routines through small activities, and relaxation techniques to ease tension in both body and mind, all of which drew a strong response from participants.

Practice-Focused Training Boosts Real-World Application

Rather than focusing on theoretical lectures, the training was structured around practical content that workers could apply immediately in the field, helping participants check in on their own state of mind and experience immediate relief.

Namdong-gu Mayor Lee Byung-rae (이병래) said, “Social welfare workers, who quietly practice love for their neighbors even under difficult circumstances, are truly a pillar of support for our society. I hope this training served as a gift of brief serenity for their tired minds and bodies, and we will continue to spare no effort in supporting workers’ healthy working environment and mental health going forward.”
