From Postpartum Care to Emotional Support

Services provided include postpartum health care for mothers, help with bathing and feeding newborns, hygiene management such as laundry, meal preparation and nutrition management for mothers, and emotional support to help prevent postpartum depression.

Since last year, cost support has also been available in cases where a mother’s own mother, registered as a care provider, delivers the service, leading to a rise in applications from users.

Applications Open From 40 Days Before Due Date

Applications can be submitted from 40 days before the expected delivery date until 60 days after birth, and can be made either online through the Bokjiro website (www.bokjiro.go.kr) or in person at the Namdong-gu Public Health Center (남동구 보건소).

The head of the Namdong-gu Public Health Center said, “By expanding the postpartum and newborn health care support program, we aim to ease the financial burden on families with newborns and contribute to the health of mothers and infants.” For more information, contact the Health Promotion Division of the Namdong-gu Public Health Center (☎032-453-5117).
