The agreement is designed to seamlessly connect the health care and caregiving services needed by residents with disabilities who are part of the integrated care program, helping them continue living healthy, stable lives in their own communities.

Under the agreement, Namdong-gu will identify residents with disabilities who qualify for integrated care and refer those who need health care services to the Regional Health and Medical Center. The center will assess each referred person’s health status and medical needs and help arrange appropriate treatment and rehabilitation services, coordinating with medical institutions, public health centers and other relevant agencies to connect the necessary services and resources. The two organizations also agreed to work together on information sharing, medical consultation and program promotion to strengthen cooperation and ensure the integrated care initiative runs smoothly.

The partnership is expected to strengthen the link between medical and caregiving services for residents with disabilities and lay the groundwork for providing needed services in a more systematic way.

Namdong-gu Mayor Lee Byung-rae said, “Based on a cooperative system that closely links medical care and caregiving, we will do our best to ensure that residents with disabilities receive the services they need in a timely manner and can continue living healthy, stable lives in the communities where they have lived,” adding, “We will keep working with related institutions to support independent living in the community for residents with disabilities and further expand customized integrated care services.”
