The 24th World Korean Business Convention, which brings together ethnic Korean business leaders from around the world in Songdo, Incheon, opens on the 28th. Incheon Metropolitan City plans to use the convention to intensively support local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in opening overseas markets and connecting with investors.

Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that the 24th World Korean Business Convention (2026 World Korean Business Convention) will be held over three days from September 28 to 30 at Songdo Convensia. A total of some 3,000 people will take part, including 1,000 overseas Korean business leaders and 2,000 domestic entrepreneurs.
The convention is held in conjunction with the 2026 World Korean Week, which runs from September 27 to October 1 across the Songdo Convensia area. Under the slogan ‘An Irreplaceable Korea, Opening the Future Together with 7 Million Overseas Koreans,’ the World Federation of Korean Associations Convention, the World Korean Convention, and the World Korean Next Generation Convention will be held simultaneously, serving as the central axis of the global overseas Korean network.
The business exhibition, which opens on the 28th, the convention’s first day, will run on a scale of 400 booths and some 300 companies. Of these, Incheon will set up a total of 120 booths — 110 for local companies and 10 for the city promotion hall — to showcase outstanding products from local SMEs and support their overseas market entry and investment ties. In effect, local companies will gain far more direct points of contact with overseas Korean businesspeople.
The official opening ceremony on the 29th will feature a celebratory performance of the Pungnyu Janggu Dance by the Incheon City Dance Company and an opening performance, followed by business sessions. At an investment briefing for some 160 overseas Korean business leaders and buyers, Incheon’s key investment environment and promising projects, including the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), will be introduced.
Mayor Park Chan-dae said, ‘I hope this convention will become a venue for tangible results — one where overseas Korean businesses and domestic SMEs are genuinely connected and go on to investment, exports and new ventures, rather than a mere gathering.’ He added, ‘Incheon, with its world-class airport, port and advanced industrial infrastructure, will become the center of the Korean economy and the starting point for the globalization of K-business.’
Drawing on Incheon’s identity as the historical birthplace of Korean emigration, side events will also be held, including a photo exhibition on emigration history, industrial tours, cultural and tourism programs, and the Yogijogi Concert. Incheon is also concentrating on the convenience and safety of participants by deploying dedicated shuttle vehicles between the airport, venues and accommodations, conducting advance fire-safety inspections, managing on-site hygiene, and operating a volunteer program.
Incheon plans to use this integrated World Korean Week event as a springboard to build an even denser global overseas Korean network and to firmly establish its brand as ‘Incheon, the Hub City for Overseas Koreans.’
