The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) has carried out a round of director-level reassignments. Effective August 24, 2026, two posts — head of the Bio-Convergence Innovation Team and head of the R&D Feasibility Review Team — will be newly filled.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced director-level reassignments on August 21, 2026. The changes take effect on August 24.
Two officials are affected. Jeon Seung-yun (田昇潤) has been appointed head of the Bio-Convergence Innovation Team, and Yoon Ji-young (尹智永) head of the R&D Feasibility Review Team. Both officials belong to the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The Bio-Convergence Innovation Team is the unit responsible for convergence research and policy that link the bio field with various technology areas, while the R&D Feasibility Review Team is tasked with examining the feasibility of national research and development (R&D) projects. Both teams underpin the practical work of science and technology policy and R&D budget management, and a change in team leadership is directly tied to the continuity of policy implementation in these fields.
The latest reassignments carry the character of routine personnel adjustments in the ministry’s organizational operations. Because science and technology R&D involves large budgets and has a broad impact on public life and industrial competitiveness, the placement of officials in charge of the relevant units is regarded as a factor shaping the stability of policy execution.
