Now in its third year, the event is organized by the International Fitness Sports Association and managed by INBA Korea, with sponsorship from the Incheon Metropolitan Government and the Incheon Tourism Organization.

Unlike conventional sporting events centered on spectating, this festival has been designed around family-oriented programs so that people of every generation, including children, teenagers, adults and seniors, can experience the value of health firsthand in their daily lives. As an occasion the whole family can take part in together, it is also drawing anticipation as a venue for intergenerational communication.

At the venue, a fitness competition will be held along with proper-posture exercises, health experience activities, taekwondo demonstrations and a kids DJ performance. Character performances featuring Megatron and Bumblebee, as well as photo sessions, will also provide visitors with a wide range of attractions.

In particular, beyond promoting a healthy leisure culture, this festival also embraces the values of regional co-prosperity and sharing. Working with the Cheongna Merchants Association, the city of Incheon will provide discount coupons and meal vouchers that can be used at some 100 local restaurants, encouraging festival visitors to head to nearby commercial districts and helping to revitalize the local economy. In addition, in partnership with Good Neighbors, the city plans to deliver scholarships and donated goods worth a total of 15 million won to relevant local organizations, contributing to the spread of a culture of sharing.

The city of Incheon intends to nurture the event into a multi-purpose festival that encompasses citizens’ health promotion, intergenerational communication, local economic revitalization and social contribution. As it will be held in an open outdoor park, the city expects that citizens will be able to experience sports, culture and sharing together in an even more relaxed atmosphere.

Joo Hyun-jin, head of the city’s MICE Industry Division, said, ‘This event is a health and culture festival that the whole family takes part in together, and a meaningful occasion that carries the significance of regional co-prosperity and sharing,’ adding, ‘We will continue to actively support a variety of events that citizens of all ages can enjoy together and that can bring vitality to the local community.’
