Displays allowed for up to 30 days…applications open from July 16

Guro District (District Mayor Jang In-hong) will operate ‘eco-friendly banner display stands’ to promote the use of eco-friendly banners by public institutions.

The eco-friendly banner display stands are spaces where only banners made with Ministry of Environment-certified eco-friendly fabric and water-based ink can be displayed. They were established to reduce the use of conventional banners made from plastic synthetic materials and expand the use of eco-friendly banners.

Using the dedicated display stands comes with the benefit of an extended display period. While general public display stands allow displays of 15 days at a time, up to a maximum of 30 days, the eco-friendly banner display stands allow displays of up to 30 days.

The district will designate 20 major locations with high promotional value among its public banner display stands for exclusive eco-friendly banner use. Target sites include areas with high foot traffic and display demand, such as around stations including Guro Station, in front of Guro District Office, and in front of Dongyang Mirae University.

The stands are available to public institutions, including all departments of the district office and affiliated organizations in the district.

Applications will be accepted starting July 16 through a dedicated application page on the district office website, with actual displays beginning from the August posting cycle.

Applicants must submit supporting documents, including a certificate for Ministry of Environment-certified eco-friendly fabric, a banner design draft, and an outdoor advertising business registration certificate, and may use the display stands only after review and approval by the relevant department.

Through this initiative, the district plans to encourage the use of eco-friendly banners starting with the public sector, and to work toward spreading an eco-friendly administrative culture and practicing carbon neutrality.

Guro District Mayor Jang In-hong said, “Operating dedicated eco-friendly banner display stands will serve as an opportunity for the public sector to lead the way in practicing eco-friendly administration and changing the culture of banner use,” adding, “We will continue to expand carbon-neutral policies that can be practiced in daily life.”
