An event offering comfort and renewed energy through music to workers with disabilities who quietly spend their days on the job was held in Yeongheung-myeon, Ongjin, Incheon. The Gonggam Sheltered Workshop (Yeongheung-myeon) announced that on June 25 it held the ‘2026 Gonggam Healing Concert with Workers with Disabilities,’ attended by workers with disabilities and local residents. The event was planned to give those who have devoted their daily lives to work activities an opportunity to enjoy culture and the arts, and to deliver emotional stability and vitality through music.

This concert was organized as a cultural performance led by Choi Mun-su, president of the FEY Flute Ensemble. Rather than being a simple performance to watch, it was notable for bringing together local residents and affiliated organizations, creating a venue of harmony where people with disabilities and the local community could communicate and empathize with one another. It was meaningful in that it provided an opportunity to enjoy culture and the arts, which is otherwise difficult to access, close to the workplace.
The event was attended by workers with disabilities and local residents, as well as officials from affiliated local organizations, including Kyung Jeong-gil, head of the Ongjin-gun Yeongheung-myeon Association for the Physically Disabled, and Cho Pan-gi, representative of the disabled taxi service. They encouraged the workers with disabilities and shared in the significance of the cultural event, adding luster to the occasion.
The performance opened with a recital by the FEY Flute Ensemble. The ensemble, led by President Choi Mun-su, offered participants a moment of rest and emotion away from daily life with warm and soothing flute melodies. The second part featured a singing contest in which workers with disabilities took to the stage themselves. The participants freely showed off their individual talents and joy while cheering one another on, and a time of harmony unfolded as the audience and the stage came together.

President Choi Mun-su said, “Music has the power to comfort people’s hearts and connect them to one another,” adding, “I hope today’s performance brought a small joy and warm encouragement to the workers with disabilities, and we will continue to carry on cultural sharing activities together with the local community going forward.”
An official from the Gonggam Sheltered Workshop said, “This concert was a meaningful occasion to encourage the hard work of workers with disabilities and, together with affiliated local organizations, to support the participation of people with disabilities in cultural activities,” adding, “We will continue to expand opportunities for emotional support and cultural activities so that workers with disabilities can work happily and stably going forward.”
This Gonggam Healing Concert was filled with a time in which workers with disabilities, local residents and affiliated organizations empathized and communicated together through the medium of music. As an event that contributed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and spreading cultural sharing in the community, it is regarded as a meaningful occasion that delivered the warmth of culture amid work and daily life.
