Yeonsu-gu District (Mayor Lee Jae-ho) held the “2026 Yeonsu-gu Public-Private Integrated Case Management Practitioner Capacity-Building Training” on the 10th for some 60 officials, including case management staff from the Hope Welfare Support Center and administrative welfare centers in 15 dong, as well as representatives of comprehensive social welfare centers and other public-sector case management partner and cooperating organizations.

The training was organized to effectively provide tailored welfare services to residents facing complex hardships. Its purpose is to enhance the expertise of practitioners in charge of case management and to strengthen the cooperative system linking the private and public sectors.

Writer Kim Nam-geum was invited as the lecturer. She spoke on the theme “Communication That Preserves Relationships and Resilience — Strengthening the Capabilities of Social Welfare Practitioners.” Using the lives of artists as examples, participants learned effective ways to communicate with those they serve, and through a process of self-reflection and examining their emotions using books as a medium, they also learned how to manage job-related stress.

A question-and-answer session followed the lecture. Participants shared their respective case management experiences from the field and discussed practical measures needed in the process of supporting those they serve, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation among related organizations.

The district expects the training not only to help practitioners improve their communication skills with those they serve and prevent psychological burnout, but also to serve as an opportunity to strengthen their on-site response capabilities.

A Yeonsu-gu District official said, “Building on public-private cooperation, we will continue to support efforts to enhance the expertise of case management staff and provide residents with even more finely tailored welfare services going forward.”
