Unseo 2-dong, Yeongjong LH Complexes 1 and 2 sign ‘village care check-in’ agreement

Information-sharing system with management offices set up to identify at-risk households early

Posted Article No. 53727

Unseo 2-dong (Chief Seo Hyung-min) in Incheon’s Yeongjong-gu District (Mayor Son Hwa-jeong) announced on the 29th that it recently signed a business agreement with the management offices of Yeongjong LH Complexes 1 and 2 to strengthen the community welfare safety net. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) calls for the two sides to jointly carry out the “Our Neighborhood Village Care Check-In Program.”

The agreement is part of the “Our Neighborhood Village Care Check-In Program,” which is sponsored by Incheon International Airport Corporation. It aims to share welfare information and have the public and private sectors work together to identify, at an early stage, at-risk households that have fallen through the cracks of the welfare system, and to build a tighter community safety net.

Under the agreement, the Unseo 2-dong Community Service Center and the management offices of Yeongjong LH Complexes 1 and 2 will establish a cooperative system to quickly share signs of crisis among residents and actively identify those in need of help, connecting them to tailored welfare services.

Specifically, when the management offices detect unusual signs while checking on residents’ well-being in the course of daily operations, members of the dong’s Community Social Security Council and welfare officials from the Community Service Center will jointly visit the site to provide counseling and connect residents to welfare services. Through this process, the program aims to respond preemptively to crisis situations.

Seo Hyung-min, head of Unseo 2-dong, said, “This agreement carries greater significance thanks to the sponsorship of Incheon International Airport Corporation and the active participation of the community.” He added, “We will continue close cooperation between the public and private sectors to swiftly identify residents in need of help, and build a warm Unseo 2-dong with no blind spots in the welfare safety net.”

Given the characteristics of areas like Yeongjong LH Complexes 1 and 2, where large-scale apartment complexes are densely clustered, the information-sharing system between management offices and administrative agencies is expected to play a practical role in preventing lonely deaths and closing welfare blind spots.
