The Incheon Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Chan-dae) will hold the third ‘Village Enterprise Festival Together with the Community’ at The Sharp Songdo Marina Bay on August 8, supporting local village enterprises in promoting their products and broadening their sales channels. The aim is to invigorate local consumption by allowing residents to meet and experience village enterprises directly within their own living spaces.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that it will hold the third ‘Village Enterprise Festival Together with the Community’ at The Sharp Songdo Marina Bay on August 8. Village enterprises are community-based businesses in which local residents use regional resources to run profit-generating projects that address local issues while creating income and jobs. This event was arranged so that residents can encounter and experience these enterprises firsthand in their everyday spaces.
A total of 10 village enterprises will participate in this third festival. They will promote and sell locally distinctive products such as vegan yogurt, natural seasonings, dumpling hot-pot meal kits, fermented sauces, coffee, and leather and quilt goods, allowing residents to see and purchase these products in person and experience the competitiveness of village enterprises.
Alongside the sales, hands-on programs will also be offered. Through activities open to people of all ages—such as making yogurt, bicycle repair and riding experiences, making nutritional salt, hand-drip coffee experiences, and crafting card wallets and eco bags—the festival will provide residents with a variety of things to enjoy.
Earlier, in June, Incheon held the first and second linked festivals at Songdo The Sharp Park Avenue and Songdo The Sharp Green Walk 1, drawing residents’ interest and participation. Through this third event, the city expects to widen the sales channels of village enterprises and showcase their excellent products, while contributing to a consumption culture that thrives together with the local community.
This festival carries significance beyond a simple sales event, as it helps lay the foundation for the sustainable growth of village enterprises by having residents directly consume products made in their own region. It offers residents a chance to feel firsthand a structure in which consumption circulates within the community and returns in the form of jobs and income.
Joo Hyun-jin, head of the city’s Social Economy Division, said, ‘The village enterprise festival is a venue for communication where local residents can directly experience the excellent products and services of village enterprises in their daily lives,’ adding, ‘We will continue to carry out various sales-support events in living spaces close to residents, further expanding the growth foundation of village enterprises.’
