Yeongjong-gu District (Mayor Son Hwa-jung) in Incheon announced on the 7th that it is carrying out the ‘2026 Support Program for Excellent Social Welfare Facility Programs,’ aimed at identifying self-developed programs run by local social welfare facilities and supporting their operating costs. The district will accept applications from facilities wishing to participate through the 20th.

The program was launched to reflect welfare demand suited to local characteristics, marking the establishment of Yeongjong-gu. The initiative is designed to support social welfare facilities in the district in operating programs they have developed on their own, thereby raising the facilities’ level of expertise and improving the quality of welfare services felt by residents.

Eligible applicants are social welfare facilities within Yeongjong-gu that are planning self-developed programs targeting district residents. The district will conduct a review process to make final selections, and selected facilities will receive support of up to 5 million won to cover costs needed to run their programs.

Facilities wishing to participate can submit required documents, including an application form and a program proposal, from August 5 through 6 p.m. on the 20th. Applications can be submitted in person at the Welfare Planning Team of the Welfare Policy Division at Yeongjong-gu District Office (Mayor Son Hwa-jung), located at 201 Haneuljungang-ro, Yeongjong-gu, Incheon, or by email.

A district official said, “We hope this support program will contribute to invigorating resident-centered, tailored, high-quality social welfare programs,” adding, “We will continue to actively work to improve the quality of local social welfare services going forward.”

Detailed information on applying for the program can be found in the notices section of the Yeongjong-gu District Office website (www.yeongjong.go.kr), and inquiries can also be directed to the Welfare Planning Team of the Welfare Policy Division at 032-760-6963. Attention is turning to what impact this support will have on establishing the welfare infrastructure of Yeongjong-gu, a newly created district.
