The Incheon Metropolitan City will hold the second edition of the 「2026 Jemulpo Wave Market」, a food-themed event, over two days from Aug. 29 to 30 at the Sangsang Platform in Jung-gu. Admission is free and open to all without prior registration, bringing together local brands from across Incheon along with residents and tourists to share the charm of the old downtown.

The Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will hold the second edition of the 「2026 Jemulpo Wave Market」 at the Sangsang Platform from Aug. 29 to 30. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, and anyone can enter free of charge without prior registration.
The Jemulpo Wave Market is Jemulpo’s flagship local pop-up market, running since 2024. It is a gathering that brings together local brands, residents and tourists from across Incheon, and this second edition takes ‘Taste of Incheon’ as its theme, showcasing the appeal of the old downtown through food, hands-on experiences, performances and events.
This market will operate a total of 70 booths including experience booths, with local brand sellers from 66 companies taking part. Alongside 46 companies in the food and beverage sector, a diverse range of brands spanning crafts, fashion, beauty and culture will join, allowing visitors to enjoy food, desserts, beverages, liquor and other fare imbued with Incheon’s distinctive character all in one place.
Hands-on programs for visitors to enjoy firsthand are also on offer. Keyring making and caricature experiences will be available, and busking performances by local Incheon artists will take place. On-site participatory events such as a food quiz and lucky draws round out the lineup.
Purchase benefits focus on real value. One stamp is given for every purchase of 10,000 won or more at a booth, and visitors who collect three stamps from three different booths receive a 3,000-won discount coupon that can be used immediately. For purchases of 50,000 won or more, reusable bags are given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
Notably, this market has partnered with the global online travel platform ‘Trip.com’ to sell vouchers usable at the venue at a discounted price. By combining the promotion with accommodation, the city aims to move beyond simple visits toward stay-focused tourism in which travelers spend time in Incheon’s old downtown. The venue, the Sangsang Platform, is about a three-minute walk from Exit 1 of Incheon Station, offering good accessibility. The third through fifth editions of this year’s Jemulpo Wave Market will be held in October, November and December, respectively. The city plans to design different themes for each edition — such as reading, music and Christmas — to offer a fresh experience with every visit.
Koo Hye-rim, Director-General of the city’s Old Downtown Innovation Bureau, said, ‘This second edition has been prepared around the theme of food so that visitors can experience Incheon’s diverse flavors and local content all in one place,’ adding, ‘We hope residents and tourists will visit Jemulpo and discover together the many tastes of Incheon and the charm of the old downtown.’
