The tournament was designed to give participants a brief break from their daily duties to enjoy healthy leisure, communicate with colleagues and build organizational culture. With not only the competing staff but also cheering squads coming together, the venue was filled with a festival-like atmosphere. Each time a strike or spare was scored, cheers and shouts of support from participants filled the bowling alley.
The grand prize went to the National Public Ai Pyeonhan Daycare Center and the National Public First Park 14 Daycare Center. The top excellence award went to the National Public Kkokkiri Daycare Center, Kkomabyeol Daycare Center, Little House Daycare Center, Ai Kkum Daycare Center and Harbor View Daycare Center. The excellence award went to the National Public First Park 15 Daycare Center, Nam Incheon Daycare Center, Love and Kids Daycare Center, Ai One Kids Daycare Center and Hyundai Daycare Center. In addition, various special awards such as Cheering King and Fashion King were prepared, offering participants further enjoyment.
One childcare worker who took part in the tournament said, “It was a great pleasure to set goals, cheer one another on and compete together with my colleagues. Through bowling, which is easy to enjoy on an everyday basis, it was a meaningful time to relieve stress and recharge.”
Yeonsu-gu District Mayor Lee Jae-ho said, “Just as the kingpin plays an important role in a bowling game, childcare teachers who accompany children through early childhood — the most important period of life — also play a role as important as the kingpin,” adding, “I am grateful to all the childcare staff who devote themselves to the children.”
An official from the center said, “We will continue to run various support programs to create a healthy work environment for childcare staff and ease their stress, thereby contributing to improving the quality of childcare and forming a sound organizational culture.” Given that raising the job satisfaction of childcare staff ultimately leads to the quality of early childhood care, the center plans to steadily continue such leisure and communication programs.
