Incheon’s Yeongjong-gu District (Mayor Son Hwa-jeong) announced on the 3rd that it is holding a participatory event called “Is This Your First Time in Yeongjong-gu?” to refine its newly opened district website together with residents. The aim is to improve the completeness of the online administrative gateway, opened alongside the launch of the autonomous district, through residents’ reports.

The event is intended to help the Yeongjong-gu main website (www.yeongjong.go.kr), newly launched on July 1, operate more conveniently and stably. Residents who wish to take part can browse the website, identify any errors or typos they find, and then access the dedicated event page to enter the details. Submissions are accepted from July 1 through the 15th.
However, the district noted that some items currently undergoing data migration may still carry the former name “Jung-gu,” and that since this is a notation stemming from the migration process rather than a typo or error, it should be excluded from reports.
The district plans to select a total of 100 participants by draw and present them with small prizes, with the winners scheduled to be announced on the 24th. Further details, including how to take part, can be found in the notices section of the Yeongjong-gu website.
Concurrent with the launch of the autonomous district, Yeongjong-gu has built and is operating a website equipped with an intuitive user interface (UI) that allows residents to search for customized welfare services, access daily-life information, and book health-promotion services without having to visit the district office in person. In effect, the newly established autonomous district is putting a non-face-to-face digital administrative foundation in place from the outset.
A district official said, “This event is meaningful in that it completes the website that will serve as the face of the newly launched Yeongjong-gu together with residents,” adding, “We ask for the strong interest and active participation of our residents.” Reflecting users’ direct reports in the early days after the launch is expected to lead to stable operation of the website and improvements in public services going forward.
