Ganghwa-gun will open the children’s water playground at its Sinjeong Sports Complex on the 17th, operating it for 33 days through August 23. Following the earlier opening of the park water playground, this second summer retreat gives residents a nearby place to escape the heat.

Ganghwa-gun (Governor Park Yong-cheol) announced that it will open the children’s water playground at the Sinjeong Sports Complex on the 17th. The facility will operate for 33 days, through August 23.
The water playground will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed every Monday and on rainy days. Operations will pause briefly from noon to 1 p.m. for water disinfection and facility maintenance, and same-day admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9:40 a.m.
The county completed a preliminary safety inspection ahead of the opening. It also improved amenities by adding more rest areas and installing new cooling fog systems, so that visitors can enjoy the water in a safer and more comfortable environment.
The water playground is equipped with a water tunnel, water drop, floor fountain, and an outdoor pool. Changing rooms, shade canopies, and benches have also been provided for visitors’ convenience.
Admission is free for Ganghwa-gun residents who present identification such as a resident registration card or driver’s license. Non-residents pay 5,000 won per person, regardless of age. With another space where children can safely enjoy the water without traveling far during the heat wave, the facility is expected to ease the burden on nearby residents.
Ganghwa County Governor Park Yong-cheol said, ‘With the children’s water playground at the Sinjeong Sports Complex now operating alongside the previously opened park water playground, children and residents can enjoy a cool summer close to home,’ adding, ‘We will do our utmost with water quality management, the deployment of safety personnel, and facility inspections so that all visitors can enjoy it with peace of mind.’
