16 additional spaces at 8 locations installed, expanding the total to 36 spaces at 17 locations
Guro-gu (Mayor Jang In-hong) is expanding its management system for parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities through the use of digital technology.
In order to prevent illegal parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities and to improve the efficiency of enforcement operations, the district has completed the installation of Internet of Things (IoT)-based unmanned enforcement terminals covering 16 spaces at 8 public facilities and public parking lots, and the terminals are now in full operation.

The installation sites are as follows: 2 spaces at Guro Future Library, 1 space at the Gocheok 1-dong Community Public Parking Lot, 2 spaces at the Haneul Park Public Parking Lot, 2 spaces at the Teotgol Public Parking Lot in Oryu 1-dong, 2 spaces at the Guro 5-dong Community Public Parking Lot, 2 spaces at the Gocheok Neighborhood Park Public Parking Lot, 2 spaces at the Guro 2-dong Small Park Public Parking Lot, and 3 spaces at the Guro Art Valley Public Parking Lot.
The IoT unmanned enforcement terminal is a system that detects vehicles entering parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities and recognizes their license plates to automatically verify whether they are permitted to park there.

When a vehicle that is not permitted to park enters, the system issues an audio warning prompting the vehicle to move, and if the vehicle does not move within a set period of time, it transmits the violation information to the administrative system. The entire enforcement process — from vehicle detection to license plate recognition, verification of parking eligibility, the audio warning and the transmission of violation data — is carried out automatically.
The district first installed IoT unmanned enforcement terminals covering 10 spaces at 6 locations in 2023, and added 10 spaces at 5 locations in 2024. With the latest installation, the number of IoT unmanned enforcement terminals in Guro-gu has expanded to a total of 36 spaces at 17 locations.
Jang In-hong, Mayor of Guro-gu, said, “We intend to actively introduce IoT technology into the field of public administration in order to improve the efficiency of enforcement and management,” adding, “We will also work to foster a proper parking culture so that residents who genuinely need parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities can use them without inconvenience.”
