The agreement was arranged so that the welfare center and the merchants association could build a cooperative system to promote community welfare, look after neighbors in need together, and expand a culture of sharing shared by local businesses and residents alike.
Together with the signing of the agreement, 13 stores in the Gueupbaetteo commercial district registered as ‘Sharing Stores’ operated by Yeongjong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, joining the effort to help neighbors. The 13 participating businesses are Gyeongbokgung Samgyetang Yeongjong Sky City branch, Kkwape Yeongjong branch, Neulbom, Badagotgan, Badamhaemultang, Yeongjong Ssambap, Jeongilpum×Gaonsusan, Jejudoyaji Haechossam, Jinro Sikdang, Jinjjamulhoe, Tongkeunbada Hansang Gueupbaetteo main branch, Haneuldam Gimbap, and 97-Do C Haemul Kalguksu.
Sharing Store is a program in which local shops and businesses take part in helping neighbors in their own way, whether through regular donations or support in the form of goods and services. The welfare center plans to continue connecting the local resources gathered this way to residents in need, and to keep cooperating so that local stores can serve as key partners in community welfare.

Park Hee-shin, president of the Gueupbaetteo Special Street Merchants Association, said, “We find it meaningful that Gueupbaetteo merchants, as members of the local community, can join in helping our neighbors.” He added, “Starting with this agreement and participation in the Sharing Store program, we will continue to take part in various sharing activities for the community together with the merchants.”
Seong Eun-jeong, director of Yeongjong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, said, “We are grateful that local stores have come together wholeheartedly to participate in sharing for the sake of residents.” She added, “We will work closely with the Gueupbaetteo Special Street Merchants Association to ensure that sharing continues naturally within the community and that this spirit is well delivered to residents in need.”
Yeongjong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center plans to keep expanding cooperation with a range of local resources, including local stores, businesses, and institutions and organizations, and to build a community culture in which residents and the community together look after their neighbors and put sharing into practice.
