Incheon’s Yeongjong-gu District (Mayor Son Hwa-jeong) announced that starting Sept. 1, it will extend the free parking period for residents using the Yeongjong Complex Culture Center from the current two hours to three hours, an increase of one hour.

The measure is designed to ease the parking burden on residents visiting the Yeongjong Complex Culture Center and allow them to make more unhurried use of its cultural, sports and welfare programs. The district expects the extended free parking time to noticeably improve convenience, particularly for users of community sports programs such as swimming, GX classes, screen golf, badminton and table tennis, as well as cultural and welfare program participants, who often spend considerable time on program participation, travel and preparation.
Since opening last July at 151 Chandeul-ro in Yeongjong-gu, the Yeongjong Complex Culture Center has established itself as a leading community cultural facility in Yeongjong International City, offering residents tailored services in community sports, culture and arts, leisure and welfare.
In particular, with facilities including a swimming pool, a fitness center and a screen golf range, the center runs a wide range of cultural, sports and welfare programs and is used by more than 2,000 residents on average per day, a figure that has steadily driven up demand for parking.

The district previously carried out an expansion of the Yeongjong Complex Culture Center’s parking lot, increasing capacity from 113 to 185 spaces, an addition of 72 spaces. The extension of free parking hours holds particular significance in that it builds on this expanded parking infrastructure while also improving the convenience residents actually feel in using the facility.
“We have expanded the free parking time so that residents using the Yeongjong Complex Culture Center can use the facility more comfortably without worrying about parking time limits,” said District Mayor Son Hwa-jeong. “We will continue to listen to residents’ voices and keep expanding administrative services that are closely connected to daily life and that residents can feel the benefit of.”
Further details are available in the notice section of the Yeongjong National Sports Center website (www.yjsports.or.kr).
