Since it was first designated a Moonlight Children’s Hospital on May 1, 2017, Yonsei Pediatric Clinic has served as a night and holiday base for pediatric care in the area. As a safety net that eases the situation of parents of children with minor conditions who have nowhere suitable to go late at night or on holidays, it is closely tied to the daily lives of local residents.
A Moonlight Children’s Hospital is a medical institution that provides outpatient care to children with minor conditions who are not severe enough to need an emergency room but require treatment at night or on holidays. It aims to help parents get the care they need without going to an emergency room, while easing the concentration of children with minor conditions in emergency rooms so that truly urgent patients can be treated quickly.
Operating hours differ by day. On weekdays, the clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Saturdays, it sees patients from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sundays and public holidays, it operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, as operations on major holidays such as Seollal and Chuseok may vary, it is advisable to check with the clinic before visiting.
The inconvenience of obtaining prescribed medication after treatment is also reduced. An affiliated pharmacy opens in line with the Moonlight Children’s Hospital’s operating hours, allowing parents to conveniently purchase prescribed medication after the visit.
A district official said, “We hope the Moonlight Children’s Hospital will help reduce gaps in pediatric care at night and on holidays and ease the inconvenience for parents,” adding, “We will continue to work to create a medical environment where children can receive care safely.”
