Jemulpo District (Mayor Kim Chan-jin) in Incheon announced that it held a briefing session on the progress of pending projects closely tied to residents’ daily lives on July 15 at Gatmaegi Hall in the Songnim District Office, with the district mayor, deputy district mayor, bureau and center directors, and relevant department heads in attendance, to comprehensively review the progress of key projects since the district’s integration.

Jemulpo District was launched through the integration of the inland area of Jung-gu District and the Dong-gu District area, and ensuring that projects previously pursued separately in the two areas continue under a single administrative system has been cited as a key challenge. This briefing session was arranged to eliminate any gaps in the handover of administrative work that could arise during the integration process and to share project-specific issues and future plans across departments.
The session focused on the progress and future schedules of five projects closely linked to residents’ daily lives: operation of the Jemulpo-gu e-eum platform, the commercial district renaissance project, the Gonggam Village urban regeneration New Deal project, redevelopment and reconstruction projects in Jemulpo District, and the construction of a new Gaehang-dong administrative welfare center.
The district said it will work to minimize handover gaps that tend to arise in the early stages of projects, and for projects that require long-term review or consultation with related institutions, it will strengthen inter-departmental collaboration to prepare solutions in advance. Through this, the district plans to give priority to accelerating projects most closely tied to residents’ daily lives.

Jemulpo District Mayor Kim Chan-jin said, “The most important task since the launch of Jemulpo District is to steadily continue projects directly related to residents’ lives without any administrative gaps during the integration process,” adding, “I ask that you actively push these projects forward, reflecting local conditions and residents’ needs in a balanced way, so that results residents can feel are achieved at an early date.”
Jemulpo District plans to continue regularly reviewing the progress of major pending projects and to strengthen administrative stability following the integration through inter-departmental collaboration and field-oriented project management.
