The Incheon Jung-gu Facility Management Corporation (Chairman Son Young-sik) has joined hands with the agencies that share the Yeongjong Multicultural Center to carry out environmental cleanup. The corporation said it conducted the ‘Green Footsteps Campaign,’ an ESG practice initiative, jointly with the tenant agencies on the 23rd.

The campaign was arranged to raise environmental awareness in the local community and to broaden a culture of practicing carbon neutrality in daily life. Rather than being run by a single agency alone, it drew added significance from the joint participation of staff from the various agencies housed at the Yeongjong Multicultural Center.
On the day, participants walked through the park within the Yeongjong Multicultural Center and carried out a ‘plogging’ activity, picking up discarded household trash and assorted waste themselves. Given the nature of plogging, which combines walking exercise with picking up surrounding litter, participants reaped two benefits at once — looking after their health while keeping the park clean.
The activity was pursued as part of the corporation’s ‘practice of ESG management in everyday life.’ It carried meaning beyond a one-off event, in that the tenant agencies gathered in one place to work up a sweat together, sharing the importance of environmental protection and building a shared understanding toward creating a sustainable local community.

The corporation plans to continue cooperating with the tenant agencies of the Yeongjong Multicultural Center going forward, steadily carrying out a range of ESG practice programs such as environmental cleanup activities and resource-recycling campaigns. The aim is to sustain the model of cooperation among tenant agencies in the environmental field.
A corporation official said, “It became an even more meaningful time as the tenant agencies came together with a shared purpose to take part in local environmental protection activities,” adding, “Going forward, we will take the lead in creating a clean and pleasant living environment through ESG practice activities carried out together with the local community.”
