An activity to care for the local environment through ‘plogging’ — picking up trash while walking — was carried out in the Yeongjong area. The Incheon Jung-gu Facility Management Corporation (Chairman Son Yeong-sik) announced that on the 23rd it held the ‘Green Footsteps Campaign,’ a joint ESG action campaign, together with organizations residing in the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center.

The campaign was organized to raise environmental protection awareness in the local community and to broaden a culture of carbon-neutral action. Rather than a single organization acting alone, employees from the various organizations sharing the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center gathered together to take part, adding the significance of cooperation.

On the day, participants walked around the park within the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center, collecting discarded household trash and various waste. Using the plogging method of picking up nearby trash while strolling, they attended to both environmental cleanup and health promotion at once, tidying the park and helping to improve the local environment.

The activity is meaningful in that it was pursued as one form of ‘practicing ESG management in everyday life.’ As the resident organizations joined hands, it became an occasion to share the importance of environmental protection and to build a consensus on creating a sustainable local community.

The corporation plans to continue steadily carrying out various ESG action programs, such as environmental cleanup activities and resource circulation campaigns, in cooperation with the organizations residing in the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center going forward.

A corporation official said, “It became an even more meaningful time as the resident organizations gathered their intentions together and took part in local environmental protection activities,” adding, “Through ESG action activities carried out together with the local community, we will continue to take the lead in creating a clean and pleasant living environment.”
