The Juan 4-dong co-parenting community group ‘Bebe Arte’ (led by Park Jung-eun) announced on the 13th that it had donated 40 bars of eco-friendly soap made together with children to the Juan 4-dong Administrative Welfare Center (Chief Kim Young-sun).

Newly formed this year, Bebe Arte is a community of residents interested in child-rearing and has been carrying out activities after being selected for Michuhol-gu District’s village community support project. The soap donation was arranged as part of that support project.

Children and their parents used natural ingredients to make the eco-friendly soap themselves, reflecting together on the meaning of environmental protection and love for neighbors.

Park Jung-eun said, “It is meaningful that we began our first project as a sharing activity together with the children,” adding, “We will continue various activities that allow children to learn the value of living together with their neighbors.”

A district official said, “We hope the soap the children made with such care will serve as a warm congratulatory gift for families registering the birth of a newborn,” and added, “We are grateful to the community for practicing this meaningful act of sharing.”

The Juan 4-dong Administrative Welfare Center plans to deliver the donated soap as congratulatory gifts to families in the area who register newborn births. As items made directly by residents raising children are passed on to newly born neighboring children, the case illustrates how voluntary solidarity among residents can develop into a local culture of care.
