The tournament was organized to promote exchange and harmony among jokgu enthusiasts nationwide and to broaden the sport’s base while invigorating community athletics. It was jointly hosted by the Ganghwa-gun Jokgu Association and the Incheon Metropolitan City Jokgu Association.

Players were divided into eight divisions to test the skills they had honed. Over the two days of competition, enthusiasts and their families who came to the venue kept up their cheering, adding energy to the grounds.

In the results, Incheon Ssodien claimed the top spot in the J1 League (doubles), UG Jokgu Club in the open division, Siheung Rest Jokgu Club in the 40s division, and Incheon City Jokgu Association-A in the officials division. In addition, Dasan Housing Jokgu Club took the J4 League, Joykick Jokgu Club-Hong the J5 League, Kkachi Jokgu Club the J6, and Nonhyeon Jokgu Club the J7, each winning their respective divisions.

The event went beyond mere competition to become a venue for community sports exchange, bringing together jokgu enthusiasts from across the country. In particular, players and officials who visited Ganghwa-gun for the tournament also experienced the region’s tourism resources and local cuisine, which observers said helped promote the area and stimulate the local economy. For residents, a nationwide-scale event held in the region drew outside visitors, serving as an occasion that brought tangible benefits to local businesses and tourism.

Ganghwa County Mayor Park Yong-cheol said, ‘This tournament was a meaningful occasion where jokgu enthusiasts from across the nation came together and gave full play to the skills they had honed,’ adding, ‘Going forward, by hosting a variety of grassroots sporting events, we will not only invigorate the local economy but also expand exchange and harmony between regions through sports.’
