An alert service that delivers daily text messages on hiring news from public institutions across Incheon has been launched. The Incheon Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it is introducing ‘Public Recruitment ON’, a new service on the Incheon Job Platform that provides public-sector job information via text message.

‘Public Recruitment ON’ is an alert service, offered through the Incheon Job Platform, that sends daily text messages on new hiring notices in Incheon, including civil-service examinations as well as openings at public corporations, agencies, and government-invested or -funded institutions under central and local governments. Notices are delivered by text the very next day after they are posted, so job seekers can keep track of hiring news from the institutions they are interested in without missing it.

Until now, obtaining public-institution hiring information required the inconvenience of visiting each institution’s website one by one. With the introduction of this service, scattered hiring news can now be received quickly and easily through a single channel, which is expected to ease the burden on job seekers who had struggled to access the information.

The new service is built on the Incheon Job Platform launched this past May. The platform links roughly 30 systems and has provided integrated public-sector hiring information for the Incheon area by organically connecting such services as Job-Alio (Ministry of Economy and Finance, hiring information for central public institutions), Gov-Job (Ministry of Personnel Management, hiring information for the public-service sector), and Clean-Eye Job Plus (Ministry of the Interior and Safety, hiring information for local public enterprises and government-invested or -funded institutions).

Citizens who wish to use the service can sign up as a member of the Incheon Job Platform and then apply for ‘Public Recruitment ON’ under ‘My Page – Alert Management’.

Alongside this, a ‘Customized Information Alert Service’ tailored to each user’s areas of interest and conditions is also offered. By setting conditions of interest by category – such as hiring information, policy and support information, and education and training information – users can receive a text message twice a week on the number of newly registered items matching their criteria. This service can be used by applying for alerts from the same menu as ‘Public Recruitment ON’ and then setting conditions of interest under ‘My Page – Customized Information Settings’; the details provided by text can be checked under ‘My Page – Alert Management – Customized Information Alert History’.

Since its launch, the Incheon Job Platform has seen steady growth in use by residents, establishing itself as a key job-information gateway with an average of about 20,000 visitors a day as of the end of September. The city conducted a user satisfaction survey this past September and plans to reflect the results in future operation and improvement of the service.

Kim Jun-seong, director-general of the city’s Economic Affairs Bureau, said, ‘For residents looking for work, encountering the information they need at the right time is more important than anything else,’ adding, ‘Based on residents’ experiences and voices, we will continue to improve the service so that the Incheon Job Platform becomes a reliable job-information gateway that residents turn to first.’
