The campaign was prepared ahead of national holidays such as National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day to raise residents’ interest in the Taegukgi and to broaden the custom of displaying the flag at homes and on vehicles. In particular, it focused on encouraging residents to reflect on the meaning of the Taegukgi in their daily lives and to take part in flying it themselves.
On the day, branch members handed out household and vehicle flags free of charge to residents and tourists passing by the Suhyup office, while explaining the significance of flying the flag and the proper way to display it. Communicating directly with residents, they also called for active participation, so that the small act of flying the Taegukgi on national holidays might grow into a wider love for the country.
The Taegukgi is the national flag symbolizing the Republic of Korea, and displaying it on national holidays is a practice that reminds people of the preciousness of the nation and allows them to share a sense of pride as citizens. By reviving the habit of flying the flag, which is easily overlooked as holidays approach, the campaign carries meaning beyond simple promotion, serving as an occasion for residents to practice love of country as members of the community.
The Korea Freedom Federation Incheon Ganghwa-gun Branch said it plans to continue carrying out various campaigns and volunteer activities alongside the local community, communicating with residents and steadily working to strengthen a sense of community and the spirit of patriotism.
