서울 주재 모로코 왕국 대사관은 7월 30일 서울 앰배서더 서울 풀만 호텔 그랜드볼룸에서 모로코 국왕 즉위 기념 국경일(Throne Day) 리셉션을 개최했다. 이날 행사는 한국과 모로코 간 우호 관계를 기념하고 양국의 경제·문화 협력 확대를 다짐하는 자리로 마련됐다.

행사는 오후 6시 30분부터 약 2시간 동안 진행됐으며, 양국 국가 연주로 막을 올렸다. 이어 시바크 사피크 라사디 주한 모로코 대사가 한국어로 환영 인사와 축사를 전하며 참석자들을 맞이했다. 이후 박종한 경제외교조정관이 축사를 통해 양국 간 협력 확대의 중요성을 강조했다.
리셉션에는 주한 외교사절을 비롯해 경제계, 학계, 문화예술계 등 다양한 분야의 인사들이 참석했다.
주한대사들의 기념촬영이 있었고 행사장에서는 행운권 추첨이 진행돼 모로코의 특산품과 기념품이 참석자들에게 전달됐다.

또한 양국 문화교류에 기여한 공로를 인정받은 정사무엘씨에 대한 공로상 시상이 있었고. 행사에는 민지영예술단의 민지영단장 한복모델 김지안, MODIGENCE 정학수 CGO, ㈜파이프트리 윤성진 선임연구원, ㈜제이엠 커넥티드 임남주 COO와 제인, 계명대학교 에싸이드 메리얌 조교수 등 다양한 분야의 관계자들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
행사는 공식 일정 이후 참석자들이 자유롭게 교류하는 리셉션으로 이어졌으며, 한국과 모로코 간 문화와 경제 협력의 가능성을 공유하는 시간이 마련됐다. 참석자들은 다양한 의견을 나누며 양국 간 교류 확대에 대한 기대를 나타냈다.

한편, 행사 자료에는 모로코가 아프리카 국가 가운데 한국과 가장 먼저 외교관계를 수립한 국가이며, 한국전쟁에도 참전한 국가이다
이번 국경일 리셉션은 외교와 문화 교류를 함께 아우르는 행사로 진행됐으며, 양국 관계자들이 상호 이해와 협력을 확대하는 계기를 마련했다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

Morocco National Day Reception Held in Seoul, Strengthening Korea–Morocco Friendship and Cooperation
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Seoul hosted a reception on July 30 at the Grand Ballroom of the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel to celebrate Morocco’s Throne Day, commemorating the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne. The event highlighted the longstanding friendship between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Morocco while reaffirming both countries’ commitment to expanding economic and cultural cooperation.

The reception began at 6:30 p.m. with the national anthems of both countries. Moroccan Ambassador to Korea Chafik Rachadi welcomed guests with opening remarks delivered in Korean, expressing appreciation for the enduring ties between the two nations. Park Jong-han, Coordinator for Economic Diplomacy, also delivered congratulatory remarks, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The event brought together ambassadors stationed in Korea, government officials, business leaders, academics, and representatives from the arts and cultural communities. Guests participated in a commemorative group photo, while a lucky draw offered recipients a selection of Moroccan specialties and cultural gifts.
A special achievement award was presented to Samuel Jeong in recognition of his contributions to promoting cultural exchange between Korea and Morocco. Among those attending the reception were Kim Ji-an, director of the Min Ji-young Arts Group and a hanbok model; Jeong Hak-soo, Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of MODIGENCE; Yoon Seong-jin, Senior Researcher at Piptree Co., Ltd.; Lim Nam-ju, Chief Operating Officer of JM Connected Co., Ltd., along with Jane; and Assistant Professor Essaid Maryam of Keimyung University.
Following the official program, guests attended a networking reception that provided opportunities to exchange ideas and discuss future collaboration in culture, business, and other areas of mutual interest. Participants expressed optimism about further strengthening exchanges and deepening cooperation between Korea and Morocco.
According to the event materials, Morocco was the first African nation to establish diplomatic relations with South Korea and also participated in the Korean War. The reception underscored the significance of the longstanding relationship between the two countries and served as a platform to promote greater mutual understanding, friendship, and future cooperation through diplomacy and cultural exchange.
