AI 디지털 콘텐츠 공급계약을 통해 아이플릭스와 한국AI영화감독협회가 AI 창작물의 유통 확대와 창작자 수익화 기반 구축에 나선다. 양측은 2026년 8월 7일 콘텐츠 공급계약을 체결하고 AI 영상과 웹소설, 웹툰 등 다양한 디지털 콘텐츠를 실제 이용자에게 연결하기 위한 협력 체계를 마련했다. 이번 계약은 단순한 작품 공급을 넘어 서비스 운영과 마케팅, 권리 보호, 수익 정산까지 협력 범위를 구체화한 것이 특징이다.

아이플릭스는 AI 콘텐츠를 중심으로 영상과 웹소설, 애니툰 등을 제공하는 온라인 플랫폼을 운영하고 있다. 공식 홈페이지에서도 최신 콘텐츠, 인기 콘텐츠, 유료·무료 콘텐츠, AI 웹소설, AI 애니툰 등의 서비스 구성을 확인할 수 있다. 아이플릭스의 서비스 이용약관에는 회사가 온라인 OTT 플랫폼을 운영한다는 내용도 명시돼 있다. ([AI FLIX][1])
이번 AI 디지털 콘텐츠 공급계약에 따라 한국AI영화감독협회와 창작자는 서비스가 가능한 AI 콘텐츠를 발굴해 아이플릭스에 공급하게 된다. 아이플릭스는 공급받은 콘텐츠가 이용자에게 전달될 수 있도록 플랫폼 서비스와 유통, 마케팅을 담당하는 구조다. 작품의 종류와 수량, 공개 시점은 완성도와 서비스 일정 등을 고려해 양측이 협의해 결정할 예정이다.
한국AI영화감독협회는 생성형 AI를 활용하는 영화감독과 영상 창작자의 권익 보호와 AI 영상예술 발전 등을 목표로 2026년 출범한 단체다. 협회는 영화감독과 AI 콘텐츠 창작자뿐 아니라 기술 전문가와 교육자, 연구자, 제작사, 문화예술기관 등을 연결하는 창작 생태계를 지향하고 있다. ([디자인DB][2])
이번 협력에서 주목되는 부분은 콘텐츠 공급 이후의 권리와 수익 구조다. 계약 내용에 따르면 콘텐츠의 저작권과 초상권은 제공자와 창작자에게 귀속된다. 양측은 제3자의 지식재산권을 비롯한 권리관계를 확인하고 심의와 등급 기준 등을 검토한 뒤 서비스 가능한 작품을 유통하기로 했다. AI 창작물이 증가하는 상황에서 제작뿐 아니라 권리 확인과 합법적인 유통 과정까지 관리하려는 구조로 볼 수 있다.
유료 콘텐츠 판매수익과 무료 콘텐츠의 광고수익, 프리미엄 콘텐츠에서 발생하는 수익도 계약에서 정한 배분 방식에 따라 정산하도록 했다. 창작자 입장에서는 작품을 공개할 수 있는 유통 채널과 함께 성과에 따른 수익화 경로를 확보할 수 있다는 점이 핵심이다. 아이플릭스는 협회와의 협력을 통해 전문 창작자가 제작한 AI 콘텐츠를 지속적으로 확보할 수 있는 기반을 넓히게 된다.
AI 디지털 콘텐츠 공급계약에는 향후 외부 플랫폼 유통과 2차 판권으로 사업 범위가 확대될 경우 계약에서 정한 정산 원칙을 적용하는 내용도 포함돼 있다. 다만 보도자료에 언급된 글로벌 OTT 및 해외 플랫폼 관련 내용은 향후 유통 확대 가능성과 계획을 설명하는 것으로, 개별 글로벌 플랫폼과의 콘텐츠 공급이 확정됐다는 의미로 해석해서는 안 된다.
계약 기간은 체결일로부터 5년이다. 계약 종료나 조건 변경에 대한 별도 의사표시가 없을 경우 같은 기간 연장하는 내용을 담고 있다. 양측은 우선 공급 가능한 작품과 서비스 일정을 정한 뒤 콘텐츠별 심의, 등급, 권리 확인 절차를 진행할 계획이다. 이후 공동 마케팅과 2차 판권 개발, 외부 플랫폼 유통, 신규 창작자 발굴 등으로 협력 범위를 확대한다는 구상이다.
아이플릭스는 앞서 AI 콘텐츠의 투자와 공동 제작을 위한 협업 접수 창구도 공식 홈페이지를 통해 운영하고 있다. 회사 측은 극장 개봉 및 OTT용 AI 영상 콘텐츠를 대상으로 투자와 공동 제작 협업을 진행한다고 안내하고 있다. 이는 AI 콘텐츠의 제작과 공급, 유통을 연결하는 사업 모델을 확대하려는 움직임과 맞닿아 있다.

이번 AI 디지털 콘텐츠 공급계약이 실제 산업적 성과로 이어지기 위해서는 공급 작품의 품질과 저작권 관리, 투명한 수익 정산, 안정적인 이용자 확보가 중요하다. 특히 생성형 AI를 활용한 콘텐츠는 제작 방식뿐 아니라 저작권과 초상권, 학습 데이터와 결과물의 권리 관계가 중요한 이슈가 될 수 있어 유통 과정에서의 검증 체계가 요구된다.
아이플릭스와 한국AI영화감독협회의 이번 계약은 AI로 콘텐츠를 만드는 단계에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 창작물을 실제 시장과 연결하는 유통 구조를 구축하려는 시도라는 데 의미가 있다. 향후 실제 공급 작품과 공개 일정, 이용자 반응, 수익 정산 사례가 축적될 경우 국내 AI 영화와 웹소설, 웹툰 시장의 사업화 가능성을 가늠할 수 있는 지표가 될 것으로 보인다.

AI Digital Content Supply Agreement paves the way for iFLIX and the Korea AI Film Directors Association to expand the distribution of AI-created works and strengthen monetization opportunities for creators. The two organizations signed a content supply agreement on August 7, 2026, establishing a cooperative framework to connect a wide range of digital content, including AI-generated videos, web novels, and webtoons, with actual users. The agreement goes beyond simple content supply by defining areas of cooperation that include service operations, marketing, rights protection, and revenue settlement.

iFLIX operates an online platform focused on AI content, offering videos, web novels, animated webtoons, and other digital works. Its official website features categories such as latest content, popular content, paid and free content, AI web novels, and AI animated webtoons. The platform’s terms of service also state that the company operates an online OTT platform.
Under the AI Digital Content Supply Agreement, the Korea AI Film Directors Association and participating creators will identify AI content suitable for distribution and provide it to iFLIX. iFLIX will be responsible for platform services, distribution, and marketing so that supplied content can reach users. The types and volume of content, as well as release schedules, will be determined through consultation between the two parties based on factors such as content quality and service schedules.
The Korea AI Film Directors Association was launched in 2026 with the goal of protecting the rights and interests of filmmakers and video creators who use generative AI, while also contributing to the development of AI-based visual arts. The association seeks to build a creative ecosystem connecting film directors and AI content creators with technology experts, educators, researchers, production companies, and cultural and arts organizations.
One of the key aspects of the partnership is the structure for rights protection and revenue sharing after content is supplied. According to the agreement, copyrights and portrait rights remain with the content providers and creators. Both parties will review intellectual property rights involving third parties, as well as content screening and rating requirements, before distributing works considered suitable for service. As AI-generated works continue to increase, the agreement reflects an effort to manage not only production but also rights verification and lawful distribution.
Revenue generated from paid content sales, advertising on free services, and premium content will also be settled according to the revenue-sharing structure specified in the agreement. For creators, the arrangement offers not only a distribution channel for their work but also an opportunity to earn revenue based on performance. For iFLIX, the partnership provides a foundation for securing a steady supply of AI content created by professional creators.
The AI Digital Content Supply Agreement also states that if the business scope expands to include distribution through external platforms or secondary rights, the settlement principles established in the contract will continue to apply. However, references in the press release to global OTT services and overseas platforms describe potential future distribution plans and should not be interpreted as confirmation that content supply agreements have already been concluded with individual global platforms.
The contract will remain in effect for five years from the date of signing. Unless either party separately indicates an intention to terminate or modify the agreement, it may be renewed for the same period. The two organizations plan to first determine the range of content available for supply and establish service schedules. They will then proceed with content-specific reviews involving ratings, rights verification, and other necessary procedures. Their longer-term plans include joint marketing, development of secondary rights, external platform distribution, and the discovery of new creators.
iFLIX has also been operating an official channel for investment and co-production proposals involving AI content. According to the company, it is pursuing investment and joint production opportunities for AI video content intended for theatrical release and OTT distribution. This initiative is aligned with the company’s broader effort to connect AI content production, supply, and distribution within a single business model.
For the AI Digital Content Supply Agreement to produce meaningful results in the industry, several factors will be important, including the quality of supplied works, copyright management, transparent revenue settlement, and the ability to secure a stable user base. In particular, generative AI content can raise complex issues involving production methods, copyright, portrait rights, training data, and ownership of resulting works, making reliable verification procedures during distribution increasingly important.
The agreement between iFLIX and the Korea AI Film Directors Association is significant because it represents an effort to move beyond simply creating content with AI and toward building a distribution structure that connects those works with the actual market. As more information becomes available on distributed titles, release schedules, audience responses, and revenue settlement cases, the partnership may serve as an indicator of the commercial potential of South Korea’s AI film, web novel, and webtoon markets.
